Overall trade situation

In August 2024, China's imports and exports of industrial robots were US$216.0 million, a year-on-year decrease of 4.3%. Among them, exports were US$113.5 million, a year-on-year increase of 97.7%; imports were US$102.5 million, a year-on-year decrease of 39.1%. Net exports for the month were US$11.0 million.

From January to August 2024, China's cumulative imports and exports of industrial robots were US$1,493.4 million, a year-on-year decrease of 24.9%. Among them, cumulative exports were US$681.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 34.6%; cumulative imports were US$811.5 million, a year-on-year decrease of 45.2%. Cumulative net imports were US$129.6 million.

Product structure

1. Export

In August 2024, the top three products in China's industrial robot exports were ordinary industrial robots, unlisted industrial robots and other multifunctional industrial robots, with exports of US$38.7 million, US$33.3 million and US$18.6 million, respectively, accounting for 34.1%, 29.3% and 16.4% of the total industrial robot trade exports, with year-on-year growth rates of 97.7%, 248.7% and 36.2% respectively.

In January-August 2024, the top three products in China's industrial robot exports were ordinary industrial robots, unlisted industrial robots and other multifunctional industrial robots, with exports of US$205.4 million, US$156.4 million and US$137.6 million, respectively, accounting for 30.1%, 22.9% and 20.2% of the total industrial robot trade exports, with year-on-year growth rates of 41.8%, 80.9% and 10.8% respectively. and -9.4%.

2. Imports

In August 2024, the top three products in China's industrial robot imports were automatic handling robots for integrated circuit factories, other multifunctional industrial robots and spraying robots, with imports of US$44.1 million, US$36.2 million and US$7.2 million, respectively, accounting for 43.1%, 35.3% and 7.0% of the total industrial robot trade imports, respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 46.0%, -62.3% and -69.3%, respectively.
